What is this site all about?

This site is all about my build of the the Vans RV-3, or the RV-3B to be more accurate. The 'B' version indicates an RV-3 with a new wing, which I believe was introduced in 1998.

The RV-3B is pictured above and is a single seat kit built light aircraft with amazing performance. For details and specifications of the RV-3B please go and have a look at the Vans Aircraft web site:

This site has been built and will be maintained to keep a complete log of my project to build one of these aircraft over the next 3-4 years. One of the main reasons for the site is to help anyone else who decides to build a RV-3B; by watching my build process through pictures, notes, the occassional video, and most importantly by learning from my mistakes which will be ruthlessly exposed. Any self respecting RV builder should expect to have a good sized scrap bin!

If you have comments or want to ask me any questions please do send me an email. Just click on the 'Email Mark' button on the left of the page.

So the site is a day to day log of the build process rather than a complete resource site for the RV-3B: for that I would strongly recommend:

Randy Lervold's RV-3 Headquarters site, which is a really excellent resource for RV-3 builders; I am not going to replicate the information on his site - go and have a look:

There only a few other RV-3B sites, some of which I reference and briefly describe in the Links section - if anyone knows any others please let me know and I will add them to the list.
